We are supporting Tree for Troops by asking for donations to help the program succeed.
These donations will help buy trees and maintain the cost of the program.
Trees for Troops was started in 2005 by the National Christmas Trees Association to insure that that military families have the traditional Christmas memories even if they are away from home.
Trees are delivered to military bases across the United States and overseas. Fed Ex Freight provides trailers at many tree farms that are collection areas.
Some tree farms provide trees that are sent to these collection areas and volunteers to load the trees on the trucks. We accept donations to off set the cost of the program.
Nancy creates wreaths and greenery for all occasions.

She has even been bringing home some blue ribbons!
Quackenbush's Trees and Wreaths is located in the Southern Adirondacks on County Highway 119, St. Johnsville, New York, in the small hamlet of Lassellsville.
The business started with Bob’s grandfather who sold boughs to several florists and some trees to the residents of St. Johnsville.
When his grandfather got too old to continue Bob took over the delivery of boughs to the florists, started to prune the balsam trees and clear fields to start a tree farm.
In 1990, we started making wreaths in our garage. We made two sizes of wreaths and offered two ribbon choices.
from 12 to 48 inches with over 100 kinds of ribbon.
All the wreath bows are homemade and custom orders are taken. Wholesale wreaths are also available.
During the second year of business, kissing balls were added.
Now besides kissing balls and wreaths we offer candy cane wreaths, door swags, arches, tabletop trees, mailbox huggies, centerpieces, all made with balsam.
Our Christmas trees are all balsam and are all homegrown on our own tree farm.
They are available at the shop the day after Thanksgiving until we are sold out for the year or Christmas, whichever comes first.

found in blisters on bark. Resin is used to make microscope slides and was sold like chewing gum; used to treat wounds in Civil War balsam fir has several desirable properties.
It has a dark-green appearance, long-lasting needles, and attractive form. It also retains its pleasing fragrance. Nine to ten years in the field are required to produce a 6-7 foot tree.
1 acre of real Christmas trees removes over 500 pounds of carbon dioxide each and every year? That means New York State Christmas tree growers remove 2,125 tons of CO2 each and every year. That's the weight of the space shuttle!
